Oh my goodness…Can’t believe we dropped Devin off at Preschool today...my son is a Busy Bug! As I left the school today with tears in my eyes…I thought about how fast my children grow and how in the middle of the everyday craziness of life I really need to stop and take it all in. I get so focused on staying on schedule to keep life as unruffled as possible, that I sometimes forget to just sit and be with them. They need that as much as I do…because one day I am going to look back and wonder where time went!
But on another note…Devin did great! As we walked down the hall…he acted like he had been there before and he knew right where he was going. He was a little shy as we went into his room and was greeted by all kinds of new friends, but he warmed up to the kids fast. Such a different experience then when we took Haylie to school for the first time. She did not want to be there…just wanted to be with Mommie, but Devin didn’t even shed a tear when we left. We told him goodbye and he waved like he was fine with it, but then he changed his mind about staying and he decided he was going with usL. The teacher picked him up and we were gone. Such a heart-wrenching moment for this Mommie!
Five hours later it was time for his first day to be over. I went to his class room and watched for a few minutes as the kids were sitting for circle time. He was standing at the edge of the carpet listening to his teacher read “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, but then his eyes caught me and his mouth flew open “OOOOOOOOOO!” He was so very excited to see me…well for a moment. Then he went right back to continue listening to the story with his other classmates. They said he did very well...a little quiet though (little do they know that will change…his baby Spanish, as we call it, will come out in force). Devin will adapt quickly…I have no worries about that.
Heading out the door!

Rocking out on our way to school
