On August 4th 2006, Haylie made me a Mommy and now she is starting her 1st day of school tomorrow!!! Where have these five years gone…they flew by so fast and I am sad that I will never get them back, but happy because she is such a blessing to me and this family.
It’s crazy to say, but my 5-year old is one of my best friends. Yes I am still the mother (which she reminds me of that every day), but she is very much my little partner. Normally with my post I tend to tell you all about her wonderful qualities, her smile or all about her personality, but this post is going to be a little different.
Over the last couple of weeks there have been things happening around me that have me stopping in my tracks and enjoying the blessings God has given me and three of my biggest blessings are my children. We never know what God has planned from day to day and our life could change overnight, so I never want to take for granted the time I have with my babies.
So I feel blessed that on Haylie’s 5th Birthday we had some girlie time…she got her ears pierced and feathers put in her hair. I feel blessed that we gave her a Tangled celebration with her family. I feel blessed that tomorrow we get to take her to her 1st day of Kindergarten and that both her father and I get to be there for her orientation. I feel blessed that tonight, like every night before, I got to sit in the rocking chair with my kids in my arms as they one by one fell asleep. And I feel so very blessed that I like every other day get to wake up and be a mother!
They make me…me! So today I am so very thankful that on August 4th 2006, we were blessed with a beautiful black-haired little girl and that every day with her (even though some are not easy days) is a gift. I love you so very much Haylie Renee…Happy 5th Birthday(again) and happy 1st day of Kindergarten!
